Change is Hard, but Inevitable – 9/26/24
As most of you know, I have sold my house in Walpole and moved to Covenant Living of Keene. While I have the ability to continue as administrator of The Walpolean, I feel it’s best for its future, and for me, to pass the reins to a Walpole resident and younger person. My goal was to assure that the community doesn’t lose what I have hoped was a helpful asset started over a decade ago by Chuck Bingaman. Luckily, I was successful in finding a very capable person exactly like I was looking for.
So – If you don’t know Kelli Wilson, let me introduce you. You can now send your posts to Kelli at thewalpolean@gmail.com and, like me, Kelli will do her best to post them ASAP. For the next month or so (until you get used to the change) you can send them there or to me at ltdecoste@comcast.net. We don’t want information to get lost in the “transfer”!
Please utilize Kelli’s skills and do your part in “Keeping the Community Up-to-date” by sharing your events and news. Kelli will be counting on your help just as I did. – Lil
“Not New – Just Improved” – 6/5/23
For the past few months Marcus Flynn has been working on The Walpolean, updating pages and helping out. Marcus is a Walpole native and student at The George Washington University where he studies International Affairs. He has previously been involved in the community through volunteering at the recycling center and as a former student representative with the Fall Mountain School Board.
He reached out to me in April when he discovered that the Government page still had Donald Trump as President. Instead of simply criticizing, he volunteered to help with the site. Such a nice offer since I have not been successful in keeping those pages up-to-date. Glad to have him aboard and trust you will see even more improvements than the ones he has already made. – Lil
A “Newer” Look – 8/22/15
France Menk, a new Follower, suggested that a menu bar be added to enable posts to be found more easily. I’ve managed to learn how to do it but it is going to take patience on your part and persistence on mine! It is a tedious process.
While I was at it, I also learned how to create the Links (Under Blogroll) on the far right. By clicking on a title you can go quickly to that website. So far, you can see Fall Mountain School District, Bridge Memorial Library, Town of Walpole, and Walpole Schools. I would welcome other suggestions that readers might find helpful. – Lil
Change is Inevitable – 5/15/15
The Bingamans are off to new beginnings. As much as we hate to see them go it is certainly understandable. I did not want to see all that they have created go with them so I agreed to do my best to keep “The Walpolean” alive and well. It wasn’t as easy as we had hoped and some changes had to be made. We hope that loyal readers will be patient as the inevitable changes occur.
If you wish to follow our progress, be sure that you sign up to stay in touch. I look forward to hearing from present and past Walpoleans!
