Hello from Sonoma, California! We’ve reached our new home and, while it
doesn’t quite feel like home yet, friendly, helpful neighbors and
townspeople have already made us feel like more than just visitors!

Driving all the way across the country was a great experience! We had good
weather and many enjoyable experiences with people we met along the way. We
connected with old friends in Montreal and Chicago, and we enjoyed seeing
the Midwest so green and growing, the Great Plains, the Rockies, the Great
Salt Lake (and related salt flats) and the Sierras.

We’ve already seen both of our children–and their children–multiple times,
and we are picking up our grandson Jasper after day camp in Mill Valley, CA
today for the second time this week.

Sonoma is bustling with summer tourists, and Peets Coffee opened a nice new
store on Monday about 10 minutes walk from our house! Very thoughtful of
them! It may become Chuck’s new downtown office!

While we are very stimulated by our new surroundings, we also miss our
friends in Walpole and are eager to get your news. Please make note of our
