Small town Memorial Day events are always fun and Walpole is no exception. It even sounds like the weatherman is cooperating!
The parade is scheduled for 11:00 AM and will be followed by a Memorial Day ceremony on the Common.
From there you can pick up barbecued chicken to benefit the eighth grade class. Tickets were purchased in advance but sometimes they make a few extra half chickens. For one, I am turning back one ticket that I won’t be using so there will be one extra half. Pick-up is at 12:00 at the Hubbard Pit.
The Bellows Walpole Inn is celebrating its one year anniversary Monday night. The celebration includes a costume party with a prize being given for best costume. Rumor has it that Benjamin himself will be there to blow out the birthday candles.
Just an FYI, according to the music calendar and school newsletter, the FMRHS Band isn’t scheduled for the Walpole parade until 11:30 a.m.

Thanks Susan. Seems like we went through this last year as well. The Brattleboro paper said 11 and parents’ instructions say 11:30. Guess if you are here at 11:00 you won’t miss it! Any idea who actually schedules this that I might check with in advance next year?
