Public Hearing – 7/13/15

Cathy White asked that i do what I can to assure that people are aware of the hearing that is being held on July 13th.  Eric Merklein had written an article for the Clarion that I would call to your attention in case you missed it.  – Lil

My husband and I thought that it might be appropriate for the Walpolean to publish news of the Public Hearing scheduled (according to the Clarion we received today) for Monday, July 13th at 7:00 PM at the Town Hall regarding the conversion of Jack Franks’ apartment development into state-subsidized “work-force” housing of 21 units.
This is his new “phase 1” portion of the development he continues to hope to build that originally consisted of: 50-some odd condos for over age 55 residents; then 48 apartment units for over 55 residents, then 65 apartment units for anyone who could afford them. Now he wants to put in 21 apartments for “work-force” housing.
Confused? We are too, as is pretty much every Walpolean. This is an important public hearing, and deserves as much coverage as it can get so that residents know what is planned for their town.
We hope you can use your voice to spread the word so that we can all be educated as to what this means.
