On Saturday, Sept. 26th at the United Church of Bellows Falls, VT. from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., nationally acclaimed master pastelist and instructor Robert K. Carsten will conduct a workshop in designing and creating “Autumn Landscapes in Bold Pastel Colors”.
Autumn landscapes, especially in New England, hold drama and breathtaking beauty. Join us in exploring and using a vibrant color palette in the creation of your own stunning pastel landscapes. Color theory, application techniques, composition and more will be discussed and demonstrated. Working from your own photos or sketches, you will have plenty of time for painting. Advise and guidance will be provided by the instructor and a final critique will be offered. All levels, from beginner through advanced are welcome.
Known for his friendly and informative teaching style, Robert Carsten, a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, is an honorary board member, signature and master pastelist member of the Pastel Society of America, a master’s circle artist in the International Association of Pastel Societies and a contributing writer to the Pastel Journal and the Artist’s Magazine. He is the Editor of PSA’s Pastelagram and Annual exhibition Catalog. His pastel paintings have been shown in many museums and galleries and are collected worldwide. He is featured in Pure Color/The Best of Pastel, Finding Your Style in Pastel, Pastel Journal, American Art Review, the Artist’s Magazine and Strokes of Genius/the Best of Drawing.
