Please Note: Yes, the library is closed for Veterans Day but it will be opened this evening for the “Great Decisions” public forum.

“Great Decisions” will meet this evening at 6:00 p.m. in the Walpole Town Library. Our topic for discussion is Pandemic Preparedness. The risk of a global epidemic has not diminished since the Covid-19 pandemic, so what have we learned and what can be done to ensure the international response is equitable and immediate?

Walpole Holiday Fairs

Walpole Holiday Fairs, November 23 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Walpole Common: Thanksgiving Farmers Market with 30+ local vendors. Congregational Church: Mistletoe Mart with baked goods, candy, crafts, and more. Lunch 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM. St. John's Church: Holiday fair with cookies by the pound, sweet & savory goods, wreaths, and more. The Gathering Place: Sending Sunshine with cards by local artists from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Postage provided.

St. John’s Episcopal Church is once again offering certain items by pre-ordering.

The fair on Saturday, November 23, will feature many other items.

If you are interested in purchasing the following:

  • apple, mixed berry, pumpkin or shoo-fly pies
  • plum pudding
  • chocolate caramel tarts
  • potato rolls

Walpole Seniors Potluck Lunch – 11/18/24

Walpole Seniors’ monthly potluck lunch will take place at 12:00 noon, Monday, November 18, at the Walpole Congregational Church.  All are welcome.  Bring a dish and conversation to share!

HCS will present a program on availabilities for Aging at Home and as-needed Hospice care.

“Great Decisions” will meet again on Monday, November 11, at 6:00 p.m. in the Walpole Town Library. What is the objective of the Global Pandemic Treaty, and what are the roadblocks to an agreement?

Reminder: Scouting for Food Drive this Weekend

This Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon, Cub Scout Pack 299 and Boy Scout Troop 299 will be holding their Scouting for Food Drive. We will be handing out information sheets for the annual ‘Scouting for Food Drive’ at the following locations: Walpole Post Office, Walpole Recycling Center, Tractor Supply and Shaw’s. People can also make monetary or food donations on this date.

Then, on November 9, 2024, from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon, we will be at the same locations collecting non-perishable food items (no glass please) and monetary donations. Pet food is also greatly appreciated. All food and monetary donations go directly to the Fall Mountain Food Shelf. Donations in 2023 included over 800 items of food and $3200 in cash. 

Friends of the Library Book Sale this Weekend!

FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY BOOK SALE!

  • Saturday (10/26/24) Pre-Sale is 8 am -10 am with an entrance fee of $25, then general admission 10 am – 4 pm
  • Sunday (10/27/24) 9-12 Books will be 5 DOLLARS A BAG all Sunday morning! 

Funds raised go towards new books, the children’s program, museum passes and supplies much more! 

Bellows Falls Woman’s Club and the Women of Walpole will have tables with delicious baked goods and an exciting raffle!

Yard Sale – 10/20/24

There will be a yard sale at 19 Stillpoint Lane in Walpole on Sunday, 10/20/24, from 9 am – 2 pm.
