Where: Fanny Mason Trailhead, 3H24+C2, Fanny Mason Forest, Walpole, NH

Join us for a 2026 Winter Forestry Stewardship Workshop!

Join CCCD and local Long View Forest foresters for a tour of an active timber harvest in the Fanny Mason Forest. The Fanny Mason forest is a 286-acre property owned by the town of Walpole and managed by the Walpole Conservation Commission for recreation, wildlife habitat, and wood production. Take a walk in the woods to learn how forest management can balance all these goals.

If you are interested in learning about forest management and getting to know a local hiking trail, then join this CCCD event. The walk will leave at 10:00 from the Fanny Mason Trailhead at the northbound rest area along the eastside of Route 12 in Walpole (43.050914205814934, -72.4450459794439, 2.5 miles south of the Route 123 Westminster-Walpole bridge).

This series is presented by Cheshire County Conservation District (CCCD), Walpole Conservation Commission, Antioch University New England, Long View Forest, UNH Cooperative Extension, USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS)

Coyotes and Bobcats Presentation at the Library – 2/2/26

A fascinating program for adults presented by the Walpole Town Library and the Hooper Institute. Coyotes and bobcats: Our wild neighbors. February 2, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the Walpole Town Library. Join us for an engaging discussion about coyotes and bobcats. We will discuss common misconceptions, human interactions, and their importance in the environment.

Come for an hour on Wednesday, February 18, at 11 a.m. Learn more, ask questions, try a few moves, and see if tai chi is right for you. We’ll meet on the second floor of the Walpole town hall. 

From then on, the group will meet every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to noon at the town hall.

The course is led by Ben Daviss, a senior instructor with the nonprofit Oriental Healing Arts Association. A tai chi player for 30 years, Ben also holds a teaching certification from the American Tai Chi & Qigong Association.

Scam Prevention for Seniors at the Library – 1/26/26

Monday, January 26, 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Main Library. The Walpole Town Library is offering a program on scam prevention for seniors in partnership with the River Valley Technical Center Criminal Justice class. They will cover how to spot, prevent, and avoid scams, and what to do if you encounter one.

New Group for Moms at the Library – 1/12/26

New! Moms' Group at the Main Library. Monday, January 12, 2026 at 10:30 AM (after Wiggle Time). Led by Sarah Breen, a maternal-child nurse and board-certified lactation consultant. The group will meet monthly to discuss the wonders and challenges of parenting very young children.

Reminder: Drewsville Tree Lighting – 12/7/25

The annual Drewsville Tree Lighting, which was postponed from last weekend, will be held this Sunday, December 7th, at 4:30 pm on the Drewsville Common. We will have horse and wagon rides, as well as cookies and cocoa. And, of course, Santa!
