Town Clerk Announces Dog License Prize Winners

The Town Clerk’s Office is excited to announce the winners of our 2025 Dog License Drawing. Thank you to our generous sponsors for some really great prizes. Walpole Veterinary Hospital donated five Pet Wellness Exams, Walpole’s Tractor Supply Company donated two $25 Gift Cards, and Walpole’s Blue Seal Feed Store donated a 25 pound bag of En-Trust Dog Chow. There were amazing gift baskets filled with treats and toys for dogs from Horse and Buggy Feed in Keene, Featherstone Kennel in Walpole, and a pet sitting service in Walpole, The PAW-tastic Nanny, LLC. We really appreciate their support and encourage you all to support these local businesses. 

The Town Clerk used the tag # for residents that were timely in licensing dogs for 2025, from January 1st to April 30th, as raffle ticket numbers for a free drawing for these prizes. Walpole’s Town Clerk’s Office issued 368 tags during this time period. 

The prize winners included: Carol Worcester, Edwin Caspersen, Jillian Hempstead, Jodi Burns, Sally Reid,
Kathy Whiton, Kai Sims, Steve Dumont, Cliff Peters, Sallie Houstoun, and Paul Hurwitz.

Additional Dog Licensing Info – Deadline 4/30/25

In the state of New Hampshire dogs must be licensed every year by April 30 th  as per RSA 466:1.

RABIES vaccinations must be current and documented – bring your proof of vaccination with you if you have any doubt.

New dogs registered after April 30 are not penalized, other dogs are charged a late fee of $1/month.

Any owner of record 65 and older by April 30 th  of the current registration year are eligible for a registration discount.

A “puppy” is a dog 6 months or younger.

Dog Fees:

  • Male Un-neutered $9.00 (unless puppy)
  • Female Un-spayed $9.00 (unless puppy)
  • Neutered Male $6.50
  • Female Spayed $6.50
  • If the owner is over 65 reg fee $2.00
  • Puppies 3-6 Mos $6.50
  • 5 or more Dogs = Kennel
  • Annual Kennel fee $20.00

In 2025 dogs who are licensed before the April 30 th Deadline, are eligible for the FREE Dog License Give-Away. Prizes include FREE Pet Wellness Exams from The Walpole Veterinary Hospital, Gift Cards from Tractor Supply, EnTrust Dog Food from Walpole Blue Seal, and gift baskets for your Best Friend from: The Pawtastic Nanny, Horse and Buggy Feed, and Featherstone Kennel. Prizes will be drawn on May 1st you do not have to be present to win!

This year with your dog license you might win a great prize!

Dog Licenses can be purchased online if you go to the Town Clerk’s page on the Town of Walpole Website: www.walpolenh.us/town-clerk

Additional dog licensing info:

  • Dog owners who are 65 or older by April 30th receive a discount on one dog license
  • Dogs can be licensed for 2025 until April 30th – after that date they will be charged a late fee
  • Dog Licenses are an affordable way to “I.D.” your dog
  • Lost Dogs are more easily identified with their license and can be returned to their owners
  • Dog Licenses prove vaccination for Rabies, should your dog bite someone
  • It’s THE LAW to license dogs in NH, yearly, see RSA 466.1

In 2025, licensing your dog will include you in a drawing for some great prizes some of which include:

  • 25-pound bag of Blue Seal Feed’s ENTRUST dog food, from Walpole’s Blue Seal Feedstore
