We all love the selection of new books at the library, but I wonder if we stop to think where they come from? No tax dollars are spent on new items, they all come from money raised by the Friends of the Library and generous gifts that have established trust funds. Most of us are unable to give large amounts of money but we all van give out time. The Book Sale is a big undertaking that takes hours in advamce of that last weekend in October. An hour or two a week would be a great help to those that are sorting those books. – Lil
Carol Malnati reports that: Each week volunteers are doing the book sorting at the building south of the main R.N. Johnson building — garage doors 15 & 16. They are there every Weds. from 9 – 10 a.m. and Thurs. 3 – 4 p.m. (That’s the same place where your donated books can be dropped off.) Many books have already been given and they would love your help sorting! Thank you.
Hi Carol, I’d be glad to help out . We are moving in to our house in Walpole slowly but surely , are going on vacation next week, and will be in the first week of July. We just sold our bookstore in Chester so it will probably feel very familiar to sort books! Lynne Reed

That’s great, Lynne. Thank you for being there when you can. Volunteers can have vacations too! :-)
