Hooper Trustees Present:    Steven Dalessio (Chair); Peggy Pschirrer; Cheryl Mayberry

CALL TO ORDER:  Mr. Dalessio called this Hooper Trustees meeting to order at 8:12 PM.  He advised this meeting is being recorded.

HOOPER TRUSTEES MEETING – August 15, 2019:  Mrs. Pschirrer moved to accept the Minutes of the Hooper Trustees Meeting of August 15, 2019, as submitted.  Seconded by Ms. Mayberry.  With Mrs. Pschirrer, Ms. Mayberry and Mr. Dalessio in favor, the Minutes were approved.

Museum Day at The Institute:  Ms. Mayberry reported that Museum Day at the Hooper Institute will be on Saturday, September 21st from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.  It is for all ages.  Museum Day is an annual celebration of boundless curiosity hosted by the Smithsonian Magazine in museums across the country.  The Hooper Institute decided to join the fun locally and celebrate Walpole’s own Farm Museum (on the second floor of the Institute).  Make a hoop and stick game and apple cider, grind corn, dress up in pioneer clothes, and try your hand at using a bit and brace tool!  There will be apples and popcorn to eat, new artifacts to see and trails to explore.  Where will your curiosity lead you this Museum Day?  Call 756-4382 for more information or on Facebook.

Hooper Update:  Ms. Dalbeck sent an email to Ms. Mayberry with a quick update on the Hooper activities she has been working on.  She painted an old donation box and will be transforming it to a “Help the Hooper” treasurer chest for spontaneous donations at the Hooper Institute and at outreach events.  Talked about programs and has been reaching out to everyone.  The gardens are thriving.  Ms. Dalbeck has been putting Friends Of the Hooper Institute brochures up around town including in the Town Hall.  Signs have been reprinted and laminated for the farm museum.  In addition she has been sorting through paperwork and doing routine work.

Ms. Mayberry moved to adjourn this Hooper Trustees meeting.  The Hooper Trustees will return to the Selectboard meeting.  Seconded by Mrs. Pschirrer.  With Ms. Mayberry, Mrs. Pschirrer and Mr. Dalessio in favor, the meeting was adjourned at 8:20 PM.

Respectfully submitted,

Regina Borden, Recording Secretary
