The Mole Hill Theatre in Alstead hosts an evening of dancing and celebrating Jamaican music with three big sounds spinning conscious selections all night to keep you moving on Friday night, October 18th.
“Three the Roots Way” presents three Sound Systems from the region:
OneSound is operated by Engineer/Selector Thomas Judd. Started in Seattle in 2006, OneSound specializes in bringing heavy roots reggae & dub selections from classics to current releases both vinyl & digital. OneSound has shared the stage with Midnite, Dezarie, Anthony B, Everton Blender, Mark Wonder & many more….while often featuring local and global toasters and deejays.
Root Cellar Sound plays conscious reggae music to uplift and empower. DJ Kale Daffodil makes his selections from a lifetime of reggae music listening and performing.
Selector D is a radio host and event DJ operating out of Southern Vermont. From his first days on the airwaves of WRUV-Burlington in 1986, he has explored the roots, branches and stems of Jamaican music. A co-founder of “radio free brattleboro” in 1998, he has hosted a weekly reggae program since then – “One Drop” is currently heard on WVEW-LPFM 107.7 FM in the Brattleboro area and globally at www.wvew.org
This event is open to all ages. Doors open at 8:00 PM. Admission is $7. This is a BYO event, please enjoy responsibly!
The Mole Hill Theatre is located at 789 Gilsum Mine Rd in Alstead, NH.
Directions from Keene: Rte 10 North to Gilsum Village. Left onto Main St, go 2 miles north, then right onto Baine Way.
Directions from B. F. VT: Rte 123 to Lake Warren. Right on Pine Cliff Rd. Right onto Gilsum Mine Rd. Go 2 miles, then left onto Baine Way.
