Death, Dying, and Dunkin’ Donuts at the First Congregational Church of Walpole – 11/14/26

Join Walpole First Congregational Church interim minister, Melissa O’Brien, for an open conversation about all things end of life. As a former hospice and hospital chaplain, and long-time minister and senior community chaplain, Melissa has spent a great deal of time in the presence of those who are transitioning out of this world. Death is one of her favorite topics of conversation, though it’s probably not yours! Come with questions and curiosities; bring your coffee and we’ll provide the sugar rush. Saturday, November 14 at 10am in the Walpole First Congregational Church’s commons room. Questions: melissa519@me.com.

I currently live in NC so won’t be able to attend. BUT, I still call Walpole home, so please let me chime in. I’m a long time hospice volunteer and can say it’s one of the best and worse volunteer gigs I’ve ever had. Many patient’s are facing their last months/days alone. Every patient is different. I think of my job as trying to put a smile on their face. I highly recommend you attend this talk and if the opportunity is there, please consider volunteering. It’s not easy and most programs require some training. Once you get involved you’ll be glad you did.
