The Saxtons River Art Guild will be sponsoring a trip to Bennington, VT on Thursday, December 10th. The trip will include visits to Bennington Museum, The Bennington Center for the Arts and Vermont Confectionery.
The Bennington Museum offers rich and impressive collections that help to tell the story of Vermont whether it be through furniture, glass, pottery or fine Art. Recognized by Yankee Magazine as Best of New England 2015 Editors’ Choice and Best Museum Makeover by The Wall Street Journal in “Best: of 2014: ART” for one of the nine most memorable exhibitions of 2014 in North America. The Bennington Center for the Arts is home to seven fine art galleries and ever changing exhibits with a focus on representational and wildlife art. It houses the country’s only Museum of the Covered Bridge which includes drawing of bridges by Eric Sloane. More information is available at www.thebennington.org
We will take a break before heading home at the Vermont Confectionery for Vermont-made ice cream and handmade specialty chocolate novelties.
Cost of the bus only is $40 for Saxtons River Art Guild members and $50 for non-members. Admission for the Museums will be $12 and will be collected on the bus. Riders may pack a bag lunch or purchase a box lunch for $10. The bus will pick up passengers in Walpole, NH and Brattleboro, VT.
